Each plate has a tan background with a lovely artistic pine cone and pine needles in the center.
The plate is made by Rowe Pottery Works, and each one is hand thrown on a pottery wheel, hand painted, and finished with a salt glaze.
The salt glaze finish is a process that has been used for many years, and it was first used in Germany, over 500 years ago. The pottery is fired in an extremely hot kiln, and the result is that the dishes are very durable and chip resistant.
The Northwoods plates are oven friendly, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe.
